So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I was little, my mother began a life-long battle with severe depression.  My childlike mind decided I was going to fix her!

That started my journey into psychology and self-improvement, and even into adulthood I think that deep down, I still secretly wanted to help her, even though I logically knew it wasn’t my place to do so.

I lived in the Australian Outback for several years, and returning to California I continued my studies in psychology.  I became a transformational coach and mentor with a large global self-improvement training organization, married, and had four children. Over the next thirty years or so, I added lots of tools to my ‘transformational self-improvement’ tool box, including becoming a Certified Hypnotherapist, Master Therapeutic Imagery Facilitator, NLP Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, Healing Minister, and intuitive channel.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Life has not always been a smooth road! I’ve dealt with divorce, financial loss, and all sorts of obstacles that evoked debilitating fear, anxiety and insecurity.  But each speed bump gave me the opportunity to transmute these horrid-seeming ‘blessings-in-disguise’ into courage, strength and personal achievement.  I’ve moved forward into healthy relationships and financial independence.  I’ve blasted through limiting beliefs by becoming an artist, entrepreneur, and athlete.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mechanics of Grace Hypnotherapy – what should we know?
As a transformational hypnotherapist, I specialize in self-improvement. Whether it’s weight loss or relationship problems, anxiety tends to be the common undertone.  Fear of change.  Fear of failure, fear of success.  Procrastination, smoking, drinking, abandonment, rejection, loss of control, starting a new business… all of these involve some sort of dread or anxiety.  I LOVE helping people free themselves from anxiety!  They feel so much better!!!  The list of ‘reasons’ people come in to see me is soooooo long, it’s impossible to add it all here, but I encourage people to just ask and I’ll know whether I’ll be able to help.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have had so many mentors, and without their love and support I would not be doing this work. Credit always goes first to my Grandmother. She was an amazing storyteller. Good storytelling skills come in handy when I’m using Therapeutic Imagery.

A dear friend and mentor, Fr. Joseph Charles, showed me what being committed 100% to another human being meant. A painting of him is in my office to remind me.  Another  friend and mentor, Christopher Parker, emblazoned my mind with the concept, “When in doubt, be a human being!” which, gives people a feeling of comfort and safe space.
